Eugene Marie Shantrelle

Money turned a teacher into murderer. Eugene Marie Chantrelle killed his own wife, Elizabeth Chantrelle (Elizabeth Cullen Dyer) with opium in 1878 for insurance policy.

Chantrelle was born in Nantes, France in 1834 like other boys. He had an excellent education and studied at Nantes Medical School but did not complete his degree.

His life however started turns nasty in 1848. During the French Revolution, he lost all his money and left the medical school before attended medical classes in Strasbourg and Paris.
